August 26 (Renewables Now) - Photovoltaic (PV) inverters supplier SolarEdge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:SEDG) on Sunday announced that the co-chairman and founder of the company, Guy Sella, had passed away.

The announcement of Sella’s untimely death came less than a week after the company said that his health condition had declined significantly and he took a leave of absence to address his health issues. Sella himself said in November 2017 that he had been diagnosed with colon cancer.

“It is with a very heavy and sad heart that we notify of the passing of our dear friend and inspiration, Guy Sella,” the company said in a statement, extending the board, management and staff’s sympathies to the family of Sella.

As of last week, the position of acting CEO of SolarEdge is held by Zvi (Zivi) Lando, who has been serving as EVP Global Sales since joining the company in 2009.
