February 11 (Renewables Now) - SolarEdge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:SEDG) is now able to offer its 5.5-kW single phase inverter with HD-Wave technology to developers of low-voltage commercial and residential solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Japan.

The company said it has obtained the needed JET certification from the Japan Electrical Safety and Environment Technology Laboratory for the particular product. The certification extends for five years and covers the new anti-islanding function requirements for multiple inverters and reactive power oscillation suppression, the statement says.

Moreover, SolarEdge has opened a technical and testing centre in Yokohama to evaluate the grid protection function of its inverters. Daniel Huber, SolarEdge’s Vice President and General Manager of Japan and Australia, commented that this facility will allow the company to bring new solutions to market more quickly.
