January 9 (Renewables Now) - The New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) has launched a tender for the construction of a solar park that will supply power to the civic body that governs the city of Vijayawada.

The grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) park is expected to supply 1.2 million kWh of power monthly to Vijayawada Municipal Corp (VMC). The capacity of the solar park has not been specified in NREDCAP’s request for selection (RfS), announced on Monday.

Bids will be accepted by February 8. The project has to be completed nine months after the PPA signing date, which is expected to be in mid-March.

To be developed on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, the projects can be located at the Krishna, Guntur or Prakasham districts of Andhra Pradesh. Winners in the tender will be in charge of building, supplying, installation, testing and commissioning the PV plants. The produced power will be sold to VMC under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA), so as to meet the latter’s pumping load requirement.

The RfS is available here: http://nredcap.in/PDFs/Tenders/RFS_Solar_08_01_2018.pdf.
