Solar power groups voice discontent with new tender
Sep 19, 2011 - French solar power groups have voiced their discontent with the new photovoltaic (PV) tender announced by the government last Thursday.
According to sector players, the efforts of the French authorities will not be sufficient to deal with the difficult situation in the solar power sector.
Earlier this summer, the government called a tender for the installation of 300 MW solar capacity, which was followed by another tender for installing 450 MW capacity, announced last Thursday.
According to estimates of trade union SER, the sector has lost nearly 10,000 jobs since March 2011. Many companies were forced to file for bankruptcy as they were affected by new sector regulations.
