Aug 21, 2012 - Japanese Solar Frontier, part of Showa Shell Sekiyu (TYO:5002), said today its copper indium diselenide (CIS) thin-film solar modules had been certified under the new JETPVm Certification standard at home.
The certification programme was launched in June to coincide with the kick off of Japan's attractive feed-in tariffs for renewable energy. It comes to verify the modules' reliability and the manufacturers' customer support scheme. JETPVm is operated by the Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET), which awarded the certificate to Solar Frontier on August 9.
To get the JETPVm certification, the company passed through an examination of the product design quality, manufacturing process and its ability to provide long-term product warranty and customer support.
