Spanish consulting and engineering firm Enertis, which has so far focused solely on the solar photovoltaic (PV) sector, has created a dedicated wind power division.
The new business will have its headquarters in Chile and be headed by Eugenio Chinchon, who will lead a team with a cumulative experience of 3.2 GW when it comes to wind technology.
The wind division is first targeting certain markets in Latin America, specifically Argentina, Mexico and Chile. However, it will also look for opportunities in Central America, the US and Europe, where it has an existing network of offices and a solid client base, Enertis said.
The company noted that it is starting this business line as part of its international expansion plan. It already has a 10-year experience in solar PV.
Previously, Chinchon has worked as a country manager in South America for DNV GL and served as a business development manager for Irish power sector enterprise ESBI.
