February 28 (Renewables Now) - Growth capital provider Energy Innovation Capital (EIC) has made a "major" investment in Pellucere Technologies Inc, which has developed an anti-reflective and anti-soiling coating that boosts the output of solar power plants.

Houston, Texas-based Pellucere Technologies, formerly known as CSD Nano, plans to use the fresh funds to initiate full-scale commercial deployment of its MoreSun coating in the utility-scale solar market.

Independent testing has shown that this product increases total energy output by up to 4.7% and power from direct axis light by up to 3.8%. It makes use of Pellucere’s Talus Dirt Rejection Technology, which, the company says, can reduce the build-up of dirt, dust and other particulates by up to 90%.

Pellucere uses a network of solar asset management partners to deploy MoreSun on utility-scale projects in the North America, Europe and Asia. The company has research and development (R&D) and production facilities in Corvallis, Oregon, as well as sales and customer support in Germany and Taiwan.
