Soitec delivers Concentrix CPV systems to Chinese customer
Dec 1, 2011 - French silicon-on-insulator wafers maker Soitec (EPA:SOI) said yesterday it had shipped its Concentrix concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) systems to Focusic News Energy Holding Co Ltd.
The order is part of a partnership agreement between the two companies.
Soitec's equipment will be used to build a 3 MW CPV solar power plant in Hami, a city on the edge of Taklamakan desert in Xinjiang province.
Soitec's CPV technology is suitable for installations in ecologically sensitive desert areas. Moreover, Concentrix systems do not require water for cooling.
According to Hansjorg Lerchenmuller, senior vice president of Soitec, the renewable energy market in China presents exciting prospects for Soitec's CPV technology.
