Japanese renewables company Smart Solar Corp announced today it has held a completion ceremony for a 1.9-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Shizuoka prefecture.
The Kannami Solar Park, as the facility is named, is expected to generate around 2,012.41 MWh of clean energy per year, enough to meet the annual demand of 630 local homes.
Comprised of 7,704 solar panels, Kannami Solar is expected to offset 1,120 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually during its lifetime.
Last month, the company also inaugurated the 2.56-MW Kumamoto Yamaga Solar Park B. Currently, Smart Solar has 35 mega solar power stations in its Japanese portfolio, with a combined capacity of 230 MW, the company noted.
