April 28 (SeeNews) - Canada-based solar projects developer SkyPower Global has signed contracts with Indian EPC contractor Sterling and Wilson for the construction and operation of 350 MW of solar parks in the Asian country.

The first deal will see the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm build three 50-MW solar power facilities in Madhya Pradesh and a further four 50-MW plants in Telangana. They are expected to enter service during the third and fourth quarters of this year, SkyPower said.

The Canadian company signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the solar parks in Madhya Pradesh with MP Power Management Co Ltd (MPPMCL) in the autumn of 2015. The off-take contracts for the plants in Telangana were entered into in February 2016.

Overall, SkyPower has more than 30 utility-scale solar PPAs representing over USD 80 billion (EUR 70.5bn) worth of long-term renewable energy sales to utilities and governments worldwide, it says.
