May 13 (SeeNews) - Canada-based solar projects developer SkyPower Global said Friday it will submit a joint bid with Chinese firm BYD Co Ltd (HKG:1211) in the upcoming auction for up to 750 MW of solar power and energy storage in India.

The company and the Guangdong-based clean- and energy efficient technologies corporation signed an agreement during the opening ceremony of the China-Canada Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference.

The joint venture (JV) will use SkyPower's utility-scale project know-how and development platform along with BYD's battery storage technology for the proposed photovoltaic (PV) parks, according to the press release.

In February of this year, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) announced that it was preparing to start a hybrid tender for a 750-MW PV plant equipped with 100 MW of energy storage capacity. The requests will be for the Ananthapuramu Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh state’s district of Kadapa.
