February 25 (Renewables Now) - US-based Relay Power LLC and environmental organisation The Sierra Club on Tuesday announced a partnership to offer people in Massachusetts an opportunity to benefit from community solar projects.
To date, Relay Power has secured contracts between residential and small commercial members and community solar projects with a total capacity of 30 MW.
Now it will offer this opportunity to Sierra Club members who cannot install their own solar systems to connect to local community solar parks.
Sierra Club has over 3.5 million members and supporters across the US.
"This partnership with Relay Power allows us to enlist our members in supporting a transition to a local renewable energy economy," Deb Pasternak, executive director of Sierra Club's Massachussetts chapter, commented.
