Siemens Financial, Mexican co Thermion partnering in 117-MW wind project

The financing arm of German industrial giant Siemens AG (ETR:SIE) and Mexican renewable energy company Thermion have teamed up to develop a 117-MW wind plant in Tamaulipas state.

With 27 pieces of SG 4.5-145 wind turbines, made in Mexico, the Delaro wind project is expected to produce enough clean power to meet the demand of 64,634 local homes, Thermion announced last week. Тhe wind scheme already has all of its output committed and sold to Mexican and international companies.

This is the first partnership between Thermion and Siemens Financial Services in the country.

Located in northern Mexico, Tamaulipas ranked second in Mexico by installed wind capacity as the state closed 2019 with 1,163 MW, according to data from the Mexican wind energy association (AMDEE).
