Japanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc has concluded a power purchase agreement (PPA) with sports equipment manufacturer Molten (Thailand) Co Ltd, involving a 999-kWp direct current (DC) rooftop solar array.
Shizen Energy said today the long-term PPA was made in collaboration with Thai independent power producer (IPP) Constant Energy.
Construction of the solar system is scheduled to commence in August of this year. Once up and running, it should be able to generate around 1.43 million kWh per year.
Shizen Energy noted that thanks to the contract, the local subsidiary of Hiroshima-based Molten Corp should be able to offset some 611 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in its factory in Sriracha, Chonburi province, eastern Gulf of Thailand coast.
