Sekisui House turns to energy-saving housing - report
Nov 30, 2011 - Sekisui House Ltd (PINK:SKHSF) and other Japanese homebuilders are preparing for a new market trend -- next-generation energy-saving houses, Japanese daily Nikkei reported.
Sekisui plans to introduce to the market houses equipped with energy management systems to operate in emergency. Thanks to external and in-house servers, residents will be able to check the condition of solar cells, storage batteries and fuel cells all the time, even while away from their homes.
At the same time, with the start of 2012 Japanese construction company Daiwa House Industry (TYO:1925) is to begin buying carbon credits from customers that have bought its Sma x Eco homes, which include solar power and storage battery installations, Nikkei added.
