August 2 (Renewables Now) - The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a tender for 150 MW of solar power capacity at sites of coal mining group Singareni Collieries Co Ltd in the southern Indian state of Telangana.

The tender is for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and also testing and commissioning of the photovoltaic (PV) capacity, as well as the delivery of comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services, SECI announced on Tuesday. Further details are not available at this point.

According to the tender notice, additional information related to the competitive selection process will be available on August 6.

Local media reported in June that Singareni Collieries planned to enter the solar sector through tendering 300 MW of PV projects. The targeted capacity would be added at four locations in Telangana state’s coal mining belt.
