Schneider Electric wins EPC contract for 43 MW solar plant in Italy
(ADPnews) - Sep 9, 2010 - French electrical components and equipment maker Schneider Electric (EPA:SU) today said it won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 43 MW solar energy project in Puglia, Italy.
The contract was awarded by AES Sole Italia srl, fully controlled by AES Solar Energy limited, a joint venture between AES Corporation and Riverstone Holdings LLC.
No financial details were immediately available.
The photovoltaic power plant will have an annual power output of 56 GWh, enough to meet the needs of a town of 40,000 inhabitants, while saving about 28,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions an equivalent fossil fuel-fired power plant would produce.
