SB Energy, partner to build 22-MW PV farm in Miyazaki

Japanese renewable energy firm SB Energy Corp said today it will develop with local firm JA Mitsui Leasing Ltd a 22.4-MW solar project in Miyazaki prefecture.
The Softbank Miyazaki Kunitomi Solar Park, as the photovoltaic (PV) plant is named, has an estimated annual output of about 26.67 million kWh, enough to supply 7,410 local households. Located in Kunitomi city, the PV park will cover an area of 46.6 hectares (115.1 acres), the clean energy arm of SoftBank Corp (TYO:9984) said.
The PV plant has its construction works scheduled to commence this month, with completion and power generation expected in 2019.
Developed through a joint venture with the same name and established back in 2016, Kunitomi Solar Park is owned equaly by both companies, SB Energy stated.
Last week, the company switched on a 50-MW wind farm located in Mongolai's Gobi desert, its first power generation business in that country.
