Finland’s Savosolar Oyj said today it has won a tender to install two solar thermal systems in France on behalf of French energy group NewHeat SAS.
The company was named as the preferred bidder for the two projects and is now in talks for their delivery. A final contract is due to be signed in a few weeks, Savosolar said.
NewHeat will be the owner of the two facilities and will sell the produced heat to district heating companies in the cities of Narbonne and Pons. Work on the installations, with a combined value of EUR 1.55 million (USD 1.8m), is scheduled to begin this year. Savosolar noted that apart from delivering the Pons installation, it will also provide the required piping.
With the latest award, Savosolar will lift to seven the number of the solar heating systems it has installed in France.
