Finnish company Savosolar Oyj is in line to deliver solar thermal systems for two projects developed by a newly-founded firm AbSolar SAS in France.
Savosolar announced today an order to supply a solar thermal plant of over 900 sq m (9,687 sq ft) for the customer’s pilot project in the city of Cadaujac. The company stands to net around EUR 300,000 (USD 325,000) depending on the delivery options.
The plant will be combined with AbSolar’s seasonal storage in order to deliver heat to a local district heating network, Savosolar said. The order includes the supply of the solar collector field, piping, solar station and optionally, short-term storage.
The Cadaujac project is awaiting the final decision on receiving subsidy.
At the same time, Savosolar will design and deliver under an exclusivity agreement a second solar thermal plant for AbSolar valued at around EUR 2.5 million. This system will be used for a greenhouse and will span between 8,000 sq m and 9,000 sq m.
The final decision to implement the project is expected at the end of this year, while the delivery is due to take place in 2021.
