SAG Solarstrom installs 35 MWp PV systems in Q3 2012
(SeeNews) – Oct 23, 2012 - German photovoltaic (PV) plant maker SAG Solarstrom AG (ETR:SAG) said today it installed PV systems with a total capacity of around 35 MWp in the third quarter of 2012.
Therefore, the company said it is on the right track to achieve its target of more than 100 MWp new installations in 2012.
SAG Solarstrom's largest individual project in the third quarter of 2012 was a 10 MWp PV system in Brandenburg, which will produce around 9,700 MWh clean electricity per year. The installation is expected to supply around 2,400 four-person households with clean energy, thus offsetting more than 6,600 tonnes of carbon-dioxide emissions per year.
As a whole, SAG installed 24.7 MWp of solar capacity in Germany, 2.1 MWp in Italy and 2 MWp in Spain in the third quarter.
Although the company was able to achieve a positive operating result in the third quarter, it said it will still continue with its cost-reduction programme.
