Hitachi Energy, Petrofac to partner on offshore wind integration
Jun 28, 2022 16:51 CESTJune 24 (Renewables Now) - RWE Renewables announced on Thursday the start of construction works on a 44-MWp ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) park in the municipality of Sines, south of the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.
The renewables unit of German energy group RWE AG (ETR:RWE) is planning to install more than 91,000 bifacial modules on about 100 hectares of land.
Once up and running, the PV farm should be capable of meeting the demand of 42,000 Portuguese homes. Commissioning is set to take place in 2023.
RWE said Omexom Portugal is in charge of carrying out the construction works for the PV plant, while Construcao e Manutencao Eletromecanica (CME) is the contractor for the substation and grid connection works.
