November 3 (Renewables Now) - Polish solar project developer and power producer R.Power SA announced on Wednesday it has commenced the construction of a 72-MWp solar farm portfolio in Portugal.
The company expects the work to be completed by the end of next year. Once up and running, all photovoltaic (PV) parks that are part of the bundle will feature bifacial modules and should be able to generate some 120 GWh of total electricity per year.
R.Power’s co-founder and CEO, Przemek Pieta, said that the company plans to grow strongly in Portugal. “In the medium term, we want to build a portfolio of 300 MWp projects,” he stated.
The company's Portuguese plants are being built across the Iberian country, including in the districts of Alentejo, Santarem, Portalegre and Castelo Branco.
At present, R.Power is developing over 7 GWp of solar projects.
