Roof solar installation scheme in Thuringia making progress
(ADPnews) - Oct 19, 2010 - The German state of Thuringia has received 91 applications for private photovoltaic (PV) installations since it launched its 1000-roofs-programme, aimed at putting solar systems on roofs and facades, four months ago.
According to the state's ministry of economy, these applications are related to investments of EUR 12 million (USD 16.7m), of which EUR 2.4 million will be provided by Thuringia.
Thuringia has prepared a total of EUR 6.5 million for the programme until 2013. The state covers 20% of the costs of installations, unless they exceed EUR 100,000. However, this percentage could rise to up to 40% in case innovative technologies are used in the PV system.
