April 29 (SeeNews) - Chinese solar manufacturer Risen Energy Co Ltd (SHE:300118) on Thursday said it has shipped 11 MW of photovoltaic (PV) modules to Senegal, as a part of a recent 22-MW order from Italy's Chemtech Solar.

Deliveries under the order are split into two equal parts, with the second one to be completed early in the third quarter, according to the announcement.

Chemtech, an independent power producer (IPP) and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, and the Chinese company have been strategic partners in Italy for over eight years.

"This more recent supply is part of a bigger program that we, together with Risen, have underway within Africa, and indeed other parts of the world," said Junshu Zeng, managing partner of Chemtech.

Risen this week reported a return to an attributable net profit of CNY 353 million (USD 54.4m/EUR 47.8m) in the first quarter of 2016 from a CNY-20.5-million loss a year back.
