(SeeNews) - May 23, 2013 - Resul Solar, part of Portuguese energy equipment group Resul, will build five photovoltaic (PV) plants of a total 10 MW capacity in Dakar, Senegal, according business daily Diario Economico said yesterday.
The capacity can be boosted to 25 MW at a second stage of the project.
Resul Solar, together with an unnamed Spanish partner and Canadian investment fund, will invest EUR 25 million (USD 32.1m) in the project.
The bulk of the electricity generated by the new plants will be sold to Senegal's power grid within a long-term contract.
Resul plans the solar power projects to attract the biggest part of the investments projected in the business plan for the next years.
