Aug 20, 2014 - The Canadian unit of UK-based Renewable Energy Systems Ltd, or RES Group, said today it will build a 10-MW photovoltaic (PV) park in Ontario for sector company Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ).
Quebec-based RES Canada will commence the installation of the GoldLight Solar project this summer with the goal to complete it by the end of 2014. The solar park will supply its generated electricity to the Ontario Power Authority under a 20-year feed-in tariff (FiT) deal.
RES Canada noted that this new contract expands its Ontario solar FiT construction portfolio to 80 MW. The firm also has a wind portfolio of over 630 MW, including the 270-MW South Kent wind scheme in Ontario.
Recently, RES Canada finished constructing the Montana-Alberta Tie-Line (MATL) transmission line between the Canadian province of Alberta and the US state of Montana, it added.
