July 23 (Renewables Now) - Argentina postponed on Monday the announcement of the RenovAr round 3 tender winners and will award off-take contracts next week, media in the country reported.

Argentine business daily El Cronista cited officials saying that the delay was strictly an operational issue since the previous stage in the tender process was also postponed. The results of the auction will be published in the country’s official state gazette as was the case with other RenovAr rounds, it was reported.

The official webpage for the auction does not reflect changes in the timetable.

The contract award stage of the RenovAr round 3, also known as MiniRen, was scheduled for July 22. Energy portal Energia Estrategica reported Monday it would most likely be pushed due to complaints from two bidding companies who claimed they had been unfairly eliminated from the tender.

A total of 52 projects offering 323.5 MW of new capacity were eligible to participate in the auction's final round.

Since the Argentine government launched the RenovAr programme in 2016, it has awarded 6,130 MW of renewable energy capacity.
