(SeeNews) - Nov 6, 2013 - Brazilian renewable energy developer Renova Energia (SAO:RNEW11) said yesterday it recorded a BRL 2 million (USD 873,700/EUR 646,850) net profit for the third quarter of 2013, down 80.5% year-on-year.<br /> For January to September 2013, Renova posted a BRL 4.5 million net loss versus a BRL 12.4 million profit in the same period of 2012.<br /> The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell by 2.8% to BRL 40.8 million in the three months to September. However, EBITDA jumped by 159.5% to BRL 111 million between January and September.<br /> Net revenue came in at BRL 59.6 million in the quarter, a 7.7% annual hike. The start-up of Renova's Alto Sertao I wind power plant helped the company post a 123.3% year-on-year hike in its net revenue for the nine months to September, to BRL 167.5 million.<br /> (BRL 1.0 = USD 0.437/EUR 0.323)
