A review by the SUN DAY Campaign of data just released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reveals that the mix of renewable energy sources provided nearly 26% of US electrical generation in 2025 as well as over 36% of installed generating capacity. Further, solar, wind, and batteries are projected to add over 60% more generating capacity in 2026 than in 2025 thereby assuring that those sources provide virtually all net new generating capacity this year.
