Renewables PR agency starts to accept SolarCoins

Renewable energy PR agency Alesia Communications last week said it will be accepting SolarCoins as payment for its services to help foster the SolarCoin blockchain project.

According to the company, it is the first PR agency in the world to accept SolarCoins.

SolarCoins are granted for free by the SolarCoin Foundation to registered solar installations at a rate of §1SolarCoin per MWh of verified solar power generated. They work like air-miles for solar electricity generation and provide an additional incentive to solar producers besides government subsidies.

Alesia said that many solar independent power producers (IPPs) like ACWA Power have already registered their assets with the SolarCoin platform and will be able to use their SolarCoins for the company's services.

"We want to contribute to this visionary project, whose success largely depends on the active creation of a diversified and plentiful network of suppliers who accept SolarCoin as a medium for value exchange," said managing partner Jonathan Collings.

Alesia has also recently become an official affiliate to the SolarCoin Foundation and can help solar IPPs to register their solar installations.
