Renewable Energy Asia gets nod to build 5 MW solar farm in China
Dec 23, 2013 - China's renewable energy investor Renewable Energy Asia Group (SGX:5DW), or REA Group, said today that the authorities of China's eastern coastal province of Jiangsu had approved the construction of a 5 MW solar farm on its territory.
This is the third solar project of the company in the Jinhu county. The two other facilities, with a combined capacity of 13.8 MW, are currently under construction.
The project is seen to cost up to CNY 46.8 million (USD 7.7m/EUR 5.6m), while the total costs of the three projects are expected to reach some CNY 183.3 million, REA said in a press release Monday. Completion of all the projects is expected by the end of next year.
In addition, the company is taking part in the development of a 20 MW solar farm in the Dongdongtan district of Jiangsu, where REA already has a 9 MW operational solar farm.
