India’s ReNew Power, now held by ReNew Energy Global Plc (NASDAQ:RNW), said today it has commissioned a 250-MW portion of a solar project won in the third tranche of a competitive auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The particular Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) solar project has a total capacity of 300 MW and the remaining 50 MW should be commissioned by the end of September, according to the announcement.
“This is the first project to be commissioned after ReNew started trading on NASDAQ (RNW) and is another step towards ReNew achieving close to 18 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2025,” stated Sumant Sinha, founder, chairman and CEO of ReNew Power.
The solar park is located in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. It has a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI and will supply electricity to the state of Bihar at a rate of INR 2.55 (USD 0.035/EUR 0.029) per kWh.
