ReNew Power commissions 143-MW solar farm, largest in Telangana

Indian independent power producer ReNew Power Ventures Pvt Ltd said on Saturday it has commissioned its 143-MW Dichpally solar farm in Nizamabad district of Telangana state.
“The Dichpally solar farm is the largest solar plant in Telangana and the first one to use tracker technology at such a large scale, which increases the power generation by 15% - 20%,” said Parag Sharma, chief operating officer of ReNew Power.
CEO Sumant Sinha added that the company will reach a total installed capacity of 510 MW in that state over the next few months and that its total investment will cross INR 37 billion (USD 573m/EUR 537m). Currently, ReNew Power has 345 MW of installed capacity in Telangana.
The Dichpally plant was commissioned in a record time of 15 months, which is three months ahead of planned. It employed over 1,500 people during the construction phase and now supports 350 jobs.
