ReneSola (NYSE:SOL) and UK solar developer Novergy on Monday said they have agreed to set up a joint venture (JV) to develop utility-scale solar projects in the UK.
The JV will continue work on the existing pipeline of 100 MW, and plans to at least double that by adding more utility-scale projects in the next couple of years.
Novergy, which has a goal of developing 1 GW of solar projects in the UK over the next years, expects the partnership to improve its financing and development capabilities at home.
The news comes a month after ReneSola announced a similar JV with Vodasun in Germany, with a starting portfolio of between 50 MW and 100 MW.
