Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTOctober 4 (Renewables Now) - ReneSola Ltd (NYSE:SOL) said on Monday it has recently received the environmental approval for a 12-MW solar project in the region of Murcia in Southern Spain and now expects to begin construction work early next year.
The clearance is in relation to the Caravaca project in the namesake municipality. ReneSola said that this particular scheme is the most advanced one in its 350-MW Spanish pipeline of projects at different development stages.
Meanwhile, the company has opened a sales and business development office in Madrid.
"From a power generation standpoint, Spain intends to switch to 100% renewable energy sources by 2050, and Renesola Power is positioned to be part of this energy transition. We have established strong partnerships, enabling us to successfully develop solar projects in the country,” said Josef Kastner, CEO of ReneSola Power European Region.
