Reliance Power registers 100-MW CSP park with Kyoto's CDM
Jul 10, 2013 - Indian utility Reliance Power Ltd (BOM:532939) said Tuesday it had registered its 100-MW concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in the state of Rajasthan under the Kyoto protocol's clean development mechanism (CDM).
Power generation assets registered under CDM receive tradeable certified emission reduction (CER) credits, each equivalent to a tonne of not emitted carbon dioxide, which can be counted towards meeting Kyoto's greenhouse gas reduction targets.
Reliance said that it had over 12,000 MW of CDM-registered capacity.
The company’s unit Rajasthan Sun Technique is in charge of the 100-MW CSP plant. The project was developed under India's National Solar Mission which targets 20 GW of installed solar power capacity by 2022.
