Reliance Power eyes 1 GW of new solar, wind capacity
(ADPnews) – Sep 28, 2010 - Indian utility Reliance Power Limited (BOM:532939) aims to install more than 1 GW of solar and wind power capacity within five years, chairman Anil Ambani told shareholders on Tuesday.
By 2016, the utility also plans to have 3,000 of hydro capacity in line with a strategy to become India’s largest private sector power generator.
The company intends to have an operational capacity of 5 GW by 2012 and will commission another 20 GW over the next three years, Ambani said.
Currently, Reliance Power has 600 MW of operational capacity.
