Hector Capital, Agritrade invest USD 100m in Singapore's Sun Electric
Dec 06, 2019 12:02 CESTJuly 4 (Renewables Now) - France-headquartered solar module maker Recom is building a 300-MW photovoltaic (PV) panel production facility in Belarus, it announced on Wednesday.
The factory is at the late stage of construction and is expected to become fully operational at the end of October 2019. It is being built about 2 km away from the Minsk international airport in a joint venture with local partners.
Recom plans to manufacture bi-facial, half-cut PV modules there to serve mainly European projects, as well as the US and Asia. The company anticipates to find new opportunities for solar projects in Belarus thanks to the new facility.
Earlier in 2019, Recom said it was increasing the manufacturing capacity of its French site in Lannion, Brittany, to 300 MW from 50 MW. At the time, the company said it was looking to develop 1 GW of solar projects in France over the next few years.
