Chemicals co LyondellBasell seals 1st US renewable PPAs for 216 MW
Jun 29, 2022 15:32 CESTJune 23 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian sugar and ethanol producer Raizen SA (BVMF:RAIZ4) has inked a deal to supply renewable power to 35 stores and one distribution centre of local women's fashion and lingerie company Marisa (BVMF:AMAR3).
Frederico Saliba, Vice President of Energy and Renewables at Raizen, said that the company will use several clean sources such as solar and biomass from sugarcane waste. The power supply contract also includes International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs).

Marisa already has five stores that use renewable energy and with the new ones, the company estimates it will avoid the emission of 764 tonnes of carbon in one year.
Raizen is a joint venture between Brazilian sugar, ethanol and fuel sector player Cosan SA (BVMF:CSAN3) and Shell Plc (LON:SHEL).
