May 21 (Renewables Now) - Greece’s Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) said Wednesday the next auctions for wind and solar power will take place on July 27.
Solar photovoltaic (PV) projects with capacities of 20 MW or less, and wind farms of 50 MW or less will be invited to take part in the competitive bidding processes, which will award long-term offtake contracts. The deadline for applications for participation will be June 29.
RAE plans to contract up to 482 MW of solar and 481.5 MW of wind power in the July auctions. The bid ceiling price for solar will be EUR 63 (USD 69) per MWh, and for wind -- EUR 62.99/MWh.
Greece awarded 502.94 MW of wind and solar power capacity in its April mixed renewables tender, with bids going as low as EUR 49.11 per MWh.
