August 9 (Renewables Now) - French renewables developer Quadran said today it has won 10 projects with a combined capacity surpassing 65 MW in the recent solar power auction in France.

Among these 10 winning projects are the 29.9-MW Metairie development in Loiret department and the 4.9-MW Pont-sur-Sambre installation, which will take place on a former EDF coal-fired power station.

Quadran noted that the 10 plants will be able to produce more than 77 GWh of electricity a year, which will be enough to meet the annual consumption of around 28,500 homes.

Overall, the auction awarded roughly 720 MW at an average price of EUR 58.2 (USD 67.3) per MWh.
