Solar mounting systems maker Schletter GmbH will cut about 300 jobs in Germany as part of a restructuring plan, already approved by the banks that will finance the firm during the process.
CEO Tom Graf and CFO Oliver Renzow are aiming at profitability by 2018, the said this week.
Due to losses in the past few years, the company’s liquidity resources have been depleted. As part of the restructuring programme, Schletter in Germany will focus on its photovoltaic (PV) system mounting solutions business, while discontinuing other operations such as its light-metal products division. The PV business will be streamlined.
Cutting roughly 300 positions in Germany will halve the firm’s workforce in the country. Globally, Schletter Group employs about 1,300.
