Oct 15, 2014 - German solar project developer ib Vogt GmbH said yesterday it had disposed of a 46-MWp portfolio of photovoltaic (PV) schemes in southeastern England to local firm Primrose Solar for an undisclosed sum.
More specifically, ib Vogt has sold an 11.5-MWp project in Sussex and two schemes in Kent with capacities of 17 MWp and 18 MWp, respectively. Construction of the solar parks had begun in July and is nearly completed. The facilities will be connected to the grid in the coming weeks, the vendor said.
Together, the three plants will be generating more than 48 GWh of electricity per year, enough to supply over 13,000 average households. All of them will qualify for 1.4 Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) per MWh of produced power.
The purchase increases Primrose Solar’s own project portfolio to over 175 MWp of capacity, either operational or under construction, said Giles Clark, CEO of the UK solar park operator.
In addition to acting as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) service provider for the three installations, Vogt Solar Ltd will also serve as operations and maintenance (O&M) contractor. Assuming that they will be completed, ib Vogt has about 220 MWp of PV plants in the UK.
