August 24 (Renewables Now) - US speciality contracting services provider Primoris Services Corporation (NASDAQ:PRIM) on Tuesday reported winning a new solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) job worth USD 270 million (EUR 272m).
The company’s energy and renewables segment has been contracted to build a utility-scale solar power plant in the Southwest. It noted that this award will add about 500 MW to the more than 3,900 MW of solar capacity it is already constructing in the region.
Primoris expects to begin initial building works in the final quarter of this year and to complete the project in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Earlier this month, the company posted record revenue of USD 1.03 billion for the second quarter, of which almost half (47.6%) was generated by the Energy/Renewables segment. Its backlog also reached a record-high level of USD 4.57 billion, which is a 59% jump from a year earlier. Energy/Renewables alone accounts for USD 2.72 billion of Primoris’ fixed backlog.
