May 9 (Renewables Now) - The renewables segment of US speciality contracting services provider Primoris Services Corporation (NASDAQ:PRIM) has added a new solar plant construction job to its backlog.
The company said on Friday that the division has secured a USD-130-million (EUR 123.7m) contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a utility-scale solar facility in the South. That award was unveiled a day after Primoris announced a USD-120-million solar EPC job in the Southwest region.
“In addition to the photovoltaic work that our Energy/Renewables Segment will execute, our Utilities Segment will perform the high-voltage work,” Tom McCormick, president and CEO of Primoris, commented with regard to the latest contract.
The firm expects to initiate work in the final quarter of this year and to finish building the solar park in the third quarter of 2023.
