PPA Partners to install 50 MW of PV at Texas comparison site
Aug 7, 2013 - US renewable energy developer PPA Partners on Tuesday unveiled a solar comparison initiative in Texas that will include over 50 MW of solar installations using a variety of photovoltaic (PV) technologies.
The Center for Solar Energy (CSE) and Texas A&M University-Central Texas (TAMUCT) are PPA’s partners in the project, whose main goal is to accelerate the market roll-out of new renewable energy technologies.
The 50-MW-plus demonstration field, only one of the segments of the multi-faceted initiative, will be located at TAMUCT’s Killeen campus. PPA Partners will rely on the CSE’s support to choose the most suitable PV products. The company will also select providers of balance of system, layouts, construction and support services.
The Texas project builds on the experience gained at a 5-MW multi-technology test site at the Arizona Western College in southwestern Arizona.
