Positive Energy to construct 2 MW solar plant in Greece

(ADPnews) - Sep 24, 2010 - Athens-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor Positive Energy announced yesterday that it had won a deal to build a 2 MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in Greece.

The contract was awarded by Solar Gate SA. According to the terms of the agreement, the works on the project, located in the Prefecture of Lakonia, will start in October this year and completed by January 2011.

When operational, the plant is anticipated to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2,600 tonnes per year.

"By adding this project to our portfolio, Positive Energy has a total of over 20 MW of projects under development today", Kyriakos Agiannidis, the company's commercial director, said.

Earlier this year, in May, Positive Energy landed a contract from local company Energiaki Vogiatzis for a 5 MW PV park in Drama, northern Greece.

Positive Energy is focused on the effective implementation and management of renewable energy projects in southeastern Europe.
