Portugal's Rosseti breaks ground on 30-MW solar farm

March 25 (Renewables Now) - Portuguese company Rosseti Engenharia has commenced construction works for a 30-MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in Mexeeiro, Santarem district.

This solar farm is being built for local renewable energy firm Generg in the municipality of Salvaterra de Magos, in Ribatejo, Rosseti announced on Tuesday.

Consisting of a total of 80,000 solar panels mounted on tracker structures, the facility is expected to generate more than 45 GWh of energy per year, enough to supply over 35,000 people. In addition to this plant, Rosseti will build a substation and a control centre for electrical distribution.

Rosseti has more than 3,125 MW of energy installed all over the world, it noted.
