Portugal's Castro Verde to install 389 kW of solar arrays

July 31 (Renewables Now) - The Portuguese municipality of Castro Verde announced on Tuesday it will install around 389 kW of photovoltaic (PV) systems.

The Wattosun - Enforce consortium has agreed to invest some EUR 300,000 (USD 334,562) to deploy PV arrays at seven sites, consisting of about 1,650 panels in total.

This project, the first of its kind to be developed in a public space in this municipality, covers a combined area of 3,300 sq m. In addition to the seven solar systems, the area has the potential for new power plants.

The solar arrays will be installed at the municipal library, cinema, stadium and at the Forum of Castro Verde, as well as the Dr Francisco Alegre School Centre, the Entradas Recreational and Cultural Centre and the Camping Park.
